Renting Homes Consultation

In Spring 2022, the Welsh Government’s ‘Renting Homes’ act will come into force. This work aims to consolidate all existing housing law in Wales, and will encompass both housing association and local authority landlords (to be known as ‘Community Landlords’) as well as private landlords.

As well as changes to tenants’ and landlords’ rights and obligations, there will be a new form of tenancy agreement which will apply for both community and private landlords. The Welsh Government is currently consulting on these new contracts, which you can find out more about here: https://gov.wales/renting-homes-wales-act-2016-draft-regulations

You are also invited to have your say at a virtual event hosted by TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Wales, which is being held on 8th June at 10:30am. You can register for the event here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZApdeGpqjsoHdZET77Oz-5AKSxxT-I1XowZ
