United Welsh march at Pride Cymru's Big Weekend 2023

21 Jun 2023

Community News

On Saturday, 17th July 2023, United Welsh marched with colleagues from the community housing sector to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community.

We want all our residents and staff to feel they can be their whole selves and belong in the communities where they live, work and visit. Marching at Pride is a way for us to show our support and commitment to achieving equality for all LGBTQ+ people.

We were delighted to march with colleagues from housing equality charity Tai Pawb, housing membership body Community Housing Cymru, and Cardiff-based housing association CCHA.

This year’s march was the biggest yet, which shows how far Wales has come since 1999; the year the first ever Cardiff Mardi Gras (now known as Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend) was held.

However, we are still striving for equality for all, and there is more work to do.

Next year’s Pride Cymru march will be held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024.
