Development
The handover brings the total number of homes transferred to United Welsh at the development closer to the 76 that will be delivered in total, which will be available for social rent through the Blaenau Gwent Council Common Housing Register.
They were joined on-site by the town’s Member of the Senedd, Alun Davies MS, and Cllr Helen Cunningham, Deputy Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council.
Lee Hawker, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes East Wales, said:

“Tackling the housing crisis requires a positive and collaborative approach, and we were pleased to welcome Alun Davies MS and Cllr Helen Cunningham to site so he could see this in action.
“We’re committed to working closely with our housing association partners such as United Welsh, and the local authority, to deliver high-quality new homes for local people in Ebbw Vale and right across Blaenau Gwent.”

Alun Davies MS – Member of the Senedd for Blaenau Gwent – said:

“The council is committed to development that reflects local needs and helps people to live in quality affordable homes.
“We welcome local developers and housing associations delivering collaboratively in this way. In a housing crisis, it is vital we work with our partners to secure much needed social and affordable homes.
“I was pleased to discuss with Persimmon Homes and United Welsh how that can be done for the benefit of the people of Blaenau Gwent.”
