Coffee morning at Ty Yn Y Pwll

On Monday, 15th May, we held our first coffee morning at Ty Yn Y Pwll, a new residential apartment building for people aged over 55, in Trethomas, Caerphilly.

After moving to Ty Yn Y Pwll in recent weeks, the coffee morning was an opportunity for new residents to get to know each other and meet the Living Well team.

Residents were also delighted to receive a welcome hamper, with mugs, tea bags and Welsh cakes to enjoy.

Two residents, Yvonne and John, are so proud of their new apartment, that they invited our staff to see how they’ve made it their home.

Yvonne said:

”I have settled in well; it feels like home.”

In addition to their new apartments, Ty Yn Y Pwll residents also benefit from support from our Living Well team, who run a project called Connect to reduce social isolation among older people.

Connect Facilitator Claire Team said:

“The coffee morning was a great opportunity to tell residents about how Connect can enhance their social life, such as arts and crafts groups, I.T classes, and intergenerational activities with schools.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know the new residents at Ty Yn Y Pwll more in the coming months.”
