Overview

United Welsh’s Barry Waterfront development, in partnership with Vale of Glamorgan Council, is located off Cory Way near Ffordd Y Mileniwm. It includes two and three-bedroom apartments for affordable rent, with apartments specifically for older people and supported housing.

The apartments are being built to the highest energy efficiency rating of EPC-A, meaning they will have minimal environmental impact and energy bills will be more affordable for residents long-term.

As part of the contract of work with Barratt Homes, a percentage of the development cost has been donated for community benefit for reinvestment back into Barry.

Thanks to the funding, our Customer Involvement team has secured employment in construction for local people, and residents in Treharne Road are enjoying a revamped communal garden space. A new side gate, pergola roof with guttering, rotary washing lines and a water butt were supplied and fitted by Barratt Homes to breathe a new lease of life into the outdoor area.
